Glorious Gardens Weekend

Help us celebrate the horticulture and nature of Penshurst Place ina special weekend of activities befitting the occasion, timed to coincide with the bloom of our 100 metre Peony Border (Mother Nature permitting!)

Saturday 1st June Only:

  • See Eli Ofir sketching in the gardens (prints available to purchase in the Gift Shop)
  • Speak to Monica Dennington about her hand painted pebbles (finished and varnished pebbles available to purchase in the Gift Shop)

Sunday 2nd June Only:

  • Enjoy listening to the Martlets Choir performing in the Baron's Hall at 12noon (house upgrade ticket required)
  • Take a free tour of the gardens with Head Gardener Tony Wiseman at 11.30am or 2.30pm (limited capacity, please enquire on arrival)

Both Days:

  • Get back to nature with drop-in Forest School sessions with Ambleford School of Rural Skills on the Woodland Walk (for children aged 5 - 12 only, limited capacity – first come first served)
  • Get crafty with The Kent Guild of Spinners, Dyers and Weavers who will be demonstrating their skills and running crafts for children.
  • Speak to the Kent Wildlife Trust fundraising team and learn more about the abundance of animals in our county and what we can do to help protect their habitats 
  • Discover our weaving wall and express your individuality by adding to our giant art centre piece
  • Enter our garden goodies raffle to win hamper of garden related products
  • Enjoy 50% of any one pot plant (limit one per person) special offer in the Plant Centre (T&Cs apply)
  • Have a go at our mini children’s garden trail to ‘spot and see'
  • Season Ticket Holders enjoy additional guest passes (available for collection on either 1st or 2nd June)
  • Free RHS member access for this weekend only (usually only mon-fri)
  • See “Then and Now” photos from the garden archive displayed alongside the gardens as they are now

 

A Weekend For Dad

15th June: Card making and pot collar decorating
16th June: Card making, pot collar decorating and face painting

Join us for a weekend to celebrate dad or an important man in your life, at Penshurst Place and Gardens. Head into The Old Coach House to make a card or a special colouring in sheet, you can even decorate a plant pot collar which can be presented at the Plant Centre for 50% off a potted plant, helping children to create a simple yet personal and unique gift.

On Sunday, why not get some matching face paint designs as your favourite superheroes or show off your wild side with a tiger, plus lots more designs to choose from!
