Admission Policies
Please note, only one special entry token, pass, benefit or allowance may be used per transaction.
Disabled Policy
We admit one accompanying registered carer free of charge when accompanying a full-paying person upon production of a letter of disabled designation by your local authority or a benefit award letter from the Department for Work and Pensions (e.g. for Disability Living Allowance, a blue badge, Attendance Allowance or PIP)
Dogs Policy
Due to the nature of the historic Gardens and the wildfowl on the estate, no dogs are allowed past the entrance of Penshurst Place & Gardens with the exception of registered assistance dogs.
Dogs are however welcome in the 2,500 acres of parkland surrounding Penshurst Place & Gardens but must be put on leads around the ewes and their young. For first time visitors to the parkland, we recommend following the 5.7km AA walking route
RHS Entrance
We are an RHS partner garden, providing free Gardens only entry to RHS adult members. This free entry is available to the one asterixed, adult named cardholder only Monday - Friday. Free RHS entrance is not valid during the weekends, school holidays or on Bank Holidays and excludes group bookings and certain events. See the current RHS membership handbook for details. Children under 5 are charged at £2.50. An upgrade to visit the House may be purchased for an additional charge of £2.00 per person.
Gardener's World 2for1
Any visitors attending with a Gardener's world 2for1 card will be granted one free Gardens only entrance ticket with one full paying adult. Up to two children under 5 will be admitted free of charge for the paying adult only, further under 5's will be £2.50 per child. An upgrade to visit the House may be purchased for an additional charge.
English Heritage Entrance
We are not an English Heritage property, however due to the generosity of the owners, EH members receive complimentary House entry upgrade (during House opening hours) upon presentation of their EH membership card when purchasing a ‘Gardens & Grounds’ ticket.
Historic Houses Association
We are pleased to mention we are now members of the Historic Houses Association and as such, all members of the HHA can enjoy free access to the House and Gardens during our 2024 open season.
